Twrp recovery is available officially by Twrp team(Team win team).Twrp version3 is the latest version of twrp.For root access on your phone, you must have to unlock your bootloader.we already share a method for unlock bootloader of you phone. - Ensure that your phone has a minimum of 50-60% charged to prevent the accidental closing in-between the method.
Download TWRP Recovery for Google Pixel and Pixel XL
Requirement –
§ Download ADB and fastboot for windows or ADB fastboot for Mac and install it on your PC. This will also install your device driver.

How to Install TWRP Recovery on Pixel and Pixel XL
- First enable ‘USB debugging’ and ‘OEM Unlock’ option from setting; developer option. To modify Developer choices, visit to the about section of the phone and tap the Build number seven times.
2. Install the ADB and fastboot driver for windows (by xda snoop05) then restart the pc or laptop, If you have already got the driver installed then skip this step.
3. Once installation of the driver, you'll see a folder named ADB in your installation directory. Enter into the folder and you find all necessary four files together with ADB and fastboot.exe.
4. Now click here for Pixel or here for Pixel XL. Once the .ZIP file is downloaded, extract it and copy the boot-to-root.img file onto the Minimal ADB and Fastboot folder on the desktop. And also download twrp recovery of pixel or pixel XL (according to your model) and paste it to in the same adb folder.
- Now press and hold ‘shift’ key and right-clicked anyplace within the folder and choose Open command window here.
6. Now you connect your device to laptop and enter into the fastboot mode.
- To enter the fastboot mode on Google pixel and pixel XL type the below command in command prompt or other technique to enter fastboot mode is by pressing ‘Power + Volume Up‘ adb reboot bootloader
8. Once visit fastboot mode, now check your connection by coming into below command in command prompt. It’ll return your device serial number means your device properly connected. Check your driver if the on top of command isn't responding. fastboot devices
9. Once your device shows up in the list, then you type the following command-
fastboot boot recovery.img
Then press enter.
The above step will boot your device into TWRP recovery.
7) Now from TWRP recovery main menu, Click on Install and select the TWRP installer zip file and Swipe to flash the file.
Root your pixel and pixel xl-
Ø Again in that adb folder, press and hold ‘shift’ key and right-clicked any place within the folder and choose Open command window here.
Ø Type the following command –
“adb reboot bootloader”
Ø After boot into bootloader,you need to fastboot boot the boot-to-root image ,By following the command-
fastboot boot boot-to-root.img
Ø Wait for a few moment, after few times reboot, you will be booted with full root access.
